The willow tree bark has been used by many of the indigenous cultures for centuries as a healing modality.  The leaves and bark of the willow tree have been mentioned in ancient texts as a remedy for aches and fever. Even the Ancient Greek physician Hippocrates wrote about its medicinal properties in the fifth century BC.   Native Americans across the continent relied on it as a staple in medical treatments.

As is often the case, by 1829, science caught up with what the ancients had known for centuries.  They discovered salicin, in the bark of the willow trees, a substance that chemically resembles aspirin and therefore provides pain relief.  Oh and did we mention?  They are VERY prolific!!!

Please feel free to explore the Willow Tree Center that you may find a place and a state of consciousness that will serve you and others. It could be a place where you can find relief for what might ail you.  If you would like to attend one of our classes, workshops or events please see the schedule or contact us if you have questions.
